Be practical and remember, the day is what you, your family and friends and your buddies make of it. Regularly brides-to-be are ignorant of the financial difficulty they lay on their marriage attendants and guests. Not everybody can afford to get that wedding outfit. Guests aren't limited to sitting noiselessly in their places. They can essentially be part of the party. It is rumoured that Queen Victoria forbade her youngsters to wed in May June was considered to be a fortunate month to wed in as it is named after Juno, the Roman goddess of love and wedding. It was believed that marrying in June would bring wealth and contentment to the newlyweds. June also signified the end of Lent and the arrival of hotter weather. In reality each day of the week had a particular meaning. In the Victorian era, the women would follow this rhyme when thinking about the day of the week for her marriage : Monday is for wealth Tues. is for health Wed. is the best day of all Thursday is for losses Fri. is for crosses Sat. is for no luck at all Fri. was considered the most unfortunate day to wed, while Wed. was the best day.
Sun. was once considered the hottest day to marry, as it was actually the only day most folk were free from work.
